Your group is going to have a great time learning about the farm at Southern Comfort Berry Farm in Bushwood, Maryland

As parents of five children, we treasure the value of a good education, and welcome the opportunity to share the farm story with school and youth groups. We like to make sure the children have a fun time while they learn about the animals, where their food comes from, and how food is grown.

 

We know that children are the future of American Agriculture, and we want to answer their questions at Southern Comfort Berry Farm in Bushwood, MarylandWe have spring and fall tours.

 

In the spring, each child will be allowed to pick a pint of fresh strawberries from the field. We talk about the strawberries and share the important facts, such as how they are planted and pollinated. We'll also talk about other crops we grow, and about the farm animals and the things we get from the animals, such as wool, eggs, and hamburger.

 

We have an interesting variety of farm animals for children to see at Southern Comfort Berry Farm in Bushwood, MarylandThe fall tour is similar, but instead of strawberries, each child is allowed to go into the field and pick a pumpkin.

 

Each child in the tour, spring or fall, will receive a coloring book that helps them recall and discuss what they've seen on the farm. Tour includes use of all our play and picnic areas, and lunches or snacks may be shared under the tent covering.

 

Convenient level parking welcomes buses at Southern Comfort Berry Farm in Bushwood, MarylandSchool tours are $5 per student and any sibling age 3 and over. Teachers and parent escorts are free, but need to purchase their strawberries or pumpkins if they want to have them.
